SJA welcomes the Rachel Eckroth Trio for this masterclass and concert. Centered on Eckroth’s original music, the trio offers a contemporary take on the piano-bass-drums format, shaped by strong compositions and responsive group improvisation. Its members include pianist and composer Rachel Eckroth, bassist Emma Dayhuff, and drummer Tina Raymond. A Grammy-nominated pianist, Rachel has toured and recorded with St. Vincent, Chris Botti, Rufus Wainwright, and members of David Bowie’s Blackstar band. The trio will work with one of SJA’s adult ensembles in addition to a performance. *Registration required.
